Dyersea was made to be the place I needed as a lover of all thing fantasy fashion. As a little kid, the aesthetic blurred into one euro-centric look that fused the 1500’s with 1960’s. It felt limiting, so I devoted my early LARP days to finding myself and my culture in the genre.

I found lot of what I encountered as “fantasy-core” was occasionally from Europe to no one’s surprise. But just as often was finding uncredited samplings of West African and Northern Indian fashion and culture. Both places have legendary batik traditions used in Dyersea pieces.

These pieces are a made to combine the fantasy worlds I adored, the very real cultures they come from, and my own Black American experience.
